Haven holiday parks to offer social distancing holidays from July

Haven has introduced accommodation-only breaks at its UK holiday parks, available from July, which it says allow guests to keep two metres apart.

It will provide access to takeaways, supermarkets, laundrettes and beaches.

If lockdown restrictions don’t allow people to travel in July, the company says bookings can be transferred to a later date. If you don’t want to switch your holiday, remember that you would be entitled to a refund, but it might take a while to get paid, in other words you’d be taking a risk.

Guests won’t get the full Haven experience, but the ‘Hideaway’ breaks will give families the chance to escape to the coast after months of lockdown, says the company.

Those who already have breaks booked during this period will not be affected at this stage. “We still hope to offer these guests the facilities and activities they have booked, but should this not be possible we will be contacting these guests within 28 days of their break to confirm what facilities will be available to offer them the chance to still take their holiday, to take a credit for a future break or to cancel and receive a full refund as part of Haven’s Coronavirus Book with Confidence Guarantee,” it said.

As more lockdown measures are eased, and Haven is able to offer more activities and entertainment, guest who’ve booked accommodation-only deals will be given the option to upgrade.

“We hope that later in the season we will be able to provide the full range of Haven facilities to all of our guests but whilst we still need to maintain strict social distancing due to Coronavirus we are unable to open areas where there could be mass gatherings,” said director Gerard Tempest.

“For guests who will be holidaying with us we will be making a range of changes to our check in process and limiting the number of guests staying on park at any time to ensure that we can protect our guests, owners and team as best as possible.”‘

Prices start at £168 per family based on up to six sharing a two-bed deluxe caravan.

All 2020 and 2021 Haven breaks are covered by the Coronavirus Book with Confidence Guarantee, which means you can get a refund.
