A new online tool has been launched so holidaymakers can check travel restrictions and health-related requirements at destinations worldwide.
The free Destination Tracker, created by the World Tourism Organisation, provides a one-stop-shop for all Covid-related travel regulations.
You can use it to check latest entry requirements such as if you’ll need to be fully vaccinated or if you’ll have to take a Covid test. You’ll also be able to check health measures in each country, such as if you must wear a mask in public.
The Destination Tracker will also show a country’s latest Covid infection rates and the extent of its vaccination rollout, two of the indicators which will be used by the UK Government to decide whether returning holidaymakers will need to quarantine at home, in a hotel, or not at all.
The Government is expected to announce early next month which countries will be on its quarantine list once the ban on all non-essential travel is lifted on or after 17 May.
It will introduce a risk-based traffic light system of restrictions, with quarantine-free travel allowed only to those countries which make it onto its green list.
While the Destination Tracker won’t tell you which countries will be green listed, it will give you an idea of those likely to be considered the riskiest, based on their Covid rates and vaccination programmes.
Updated regularly by governments worldwide, the tool is free to use. It includes data on:
